My name is Octafiandri Hodir or known as Findri Hodir by my close circle. I'm a Visual Designer originally from Indonesia and since January 2014 Berlin is my home. Check out my portfolio to learn more about my design work
The Unicorn Work — a business I officially registered in August 2021 right after my current employer took me back after the good 15 months on Short-time work a.k.a Kurzarbeit 50%. I have always wanted to have my own business but I'm a purely designer who has no idea about business and truly hates math! My side business before The Unicorn Work was only some freelance design project with a few small clients. So to say, there was nothing different than the thing I do in my full-time job; doing design tasks as a designer.
A couple of days before August started — right after my employer called me back for full-time work — there was that magical moment when I feel like my star is aligning with all the things I can't explain in my ordinary humanoid understanding. All of a sudden I felt the courage to make things happen. Things that I wanted to do the most without realizing it especially when I speak out loud about "Design that sells". I finally have the courage to not only design marketing materials so that people buy certain products, but I finally realized something I have always wanted to do;
I want to sell things. I want to design and sell things. I want to design things that sell.
Yep, my dream is not that big as typical designer dreams like...to work for Apple or whatever. It might sound too simple but surely it's not easy to do and there is no guarantee that I will succeed. However, I believe in the universe and its magic. No matter how hard my way to get there, I'll follow the sign (and data, of course, #datadriven ) ...and maybe one day I'll introduce myself as a businesswoman.
So if you're wondering what the hell is this website, I might still have no concrete answer for you yet. But I think I won't sell my design skill here but sure, just drop a message if you're interested to collaborate with me on a design project.
